Obituary of Matthew (Matt) Gallant

July 20, 1935 - July 14, 2025 The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Monday, July 14, 2025 of Matthew (Matt) Gallant of Le Chez Nous, Wellington at the age of 89 years. Born on July 20th, 1935 he was the son of the late Aubin and Sylvina (nee Bernard) Gallant. Matthew will be forever remembered by his brother Paul, sisters-in-law Anna and Louise Gallant, brother-in-law Euclide Gallant and Gloria Gallant, his niece. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Aubin and Sylvina Gallant, and by the following brothers and sisters; Ted, Nelida, Amand, Jeanne, Edgar, Normand, Alfred, Leo, Eric, Aline, Leona and Eliza Gallant. There will be no visiting hour per his request. The family will gather at the Evangeline Funeral Home, 900 Rte 124 Urbainville, prior to the funeral mass to be held at St. Philippe et St. Jacques Catholic Church in Egmont Bay at 10:30 am on Monday July 21st, 2025. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in Matt’s memory can be made to the St. Philippe et St. Jacques Parish.
