Obituary of Marie "Geralda" (Geri) Arsenault

March 5, 1950 ~ September 13, 2025 Peacefully and surrounded by her loving family and friends, Mary Geralda (Geri) Arsenault, née Gallant, passed away at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI, on September 13, 2025 at age 75. Born in Saint Chrysostome, PEI, Geralda went on to live all over Canada, in towns large and small, eventually coming back home to the island where she divided her time between her home in Wellington Station and with her partner of 26 years, Ralph Dawson, in Augustine Cove. Generous with her time and talents, Geralda was a skilled and passionate quilter, furnishing the homes of family, friends, Islanders and tourists with her creations. She also provided over 200 quilt donations for cancer patients through Victoria Quilts, and likely as many or more for social services initiatives and other organizations. Her children Richard and Rhonda Arsenault, her step-children Stephen Dawson (Amanda), Doug Dawson (Laurie) and Heather Quigley (Kent), and her beloved niece Melissa Compton (Jason) already miss her greatly, as do her 8 step-grandchildren, Brittany, Kyle, Ryan, Chad, Hailey, Madison, Beau and Parker, and great grand-children, Kinsley, Teagan, Emerson, Easton, Nora, Sutter, Rhett and Alaya, along with many nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. Geralda is survived by her brother Vincent Gallant, sister-in-law Melina Gallant, and the father of her children, Eric Arsenault. She is predeceased by her sisters Faustina Arsenault and Isabelle Owen, her brother Roderick Gallant, her step-son Donny Dawson, as well as her sister and brother in-laws Tilmon Arsenault and Adelina Gallant, and her parents Archie and Aline (née Arsenault) Gallant. Geralda is resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville, PEI, for visiting hours on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a service at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at the St. Philippe et St. Jacques Parish Cemetery in Egmont Bay. Geralda`s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, dialysis team and other staff at the Prince County Hospital and Health PEI, and Nurse Practitioner Josh Vriends, for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to her during her illness. They would also like to thank the many wonderful volunteers who helped along the way. In lieu of flowers, donations in Geralda`s memory can be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the PEI Humane Society.
