Albert Arsenault

Obituary of Albert Joseph Arsenault

May 29, 1925 ~ September 21, 2025 Our beloved Uncle Albert, a resident of Le Chez-Nous in Wellington, PE passed peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on September 21, 2025 at the age of 100 years, with his family of nieces and nephews by his side. Although Albert was a lifelong bachelor, he was a favorite uncle to all of us and will be forever missed. He was born in St. Chrysostome to his parents, Agape and Veronique; predeceased by his brothers: Henry, Camille, Peter, Frank, Martin, Leo; by his sisters, Yvonne, Helen, Bertha, Hermine, Emelda and Bernadette. He is also predeceased by his nephews: Keir, Francis and Andrew; by his nieces: Helen, Marlene, Donna, Martina and Noonie. In 1943, Albert enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy against his mother’s wishes. He was assigned to the HMCS Iroquois, which targeted enemy submarines and later participated in an allied convoy of the Murmansk Run bringing food, supplies and military hardware to Russia. After the war, he returned to PEI and after college, he moved to Toronto to pursue his career and then to Montreal where he lived for 60 years. In his nineties, he decided to move back home to be with family, who welcomed him with open arms. We find solace in the memories he created and will always bring warmth, gratitude and humour into our lives. Rest peacefully Uncle Albert. A funeral mass will be held at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church in Egmont Bay on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
