Obituary of Bertha Merie Arsenault

May 30, 1940 ~ January 6, 2026 It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bertha Merie Arsenault, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 85 years. Born May 30, 1940, Bertha was the beloved wife of Francis Arsenault of Miscouche and formerly of St Raphael and cherished daughter of the late Glorice Gallant and late Marie Gallant of Wellington. Bertha will be forever loved and missed by her children: Sharon (Wayne) Tenney (grandchildren: Michael and Matthew), Darlene Arsenault (Gary) and Kevin Arsenault; by brothers and sisters: Rose Mae Richards, Jerry (Anne) Gallant, Stella Gallant (Freddie Skinner), Linda (Timmy) Richards, Louis (Celina) Gallant, and Shelley (Rob) Crossley; by brothers- and sisters-in-law: Jean-Pierre (Alvina) Arsenault, step-brother-in- law Wilfred (Kitty), adopted sister-in-law Carol (Melvin) Arsenault and step-sister Leona (Phil) Cheney. Predeceased by her parents Glorice and Marie Gallant, by her parents-in-law Jos (Jos Hubert) and Lucie Anne (1st marriage), Marguerite (2nd marriage) and Antoinette (3rd marriage); by her brother-in-law Ronald (Janine) and brother-in-law Danny. Bertha was an artistic crafter who designed and created many beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening. Bertha was a dedicated letter carrier with Canada Post for many years. She also loved the game of darts and Mexican Train dominos with family and friends. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville, PE, for visiting hours on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Interment to be held in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery, Richmond, at a later date. Memorial donations in Bertha’s name made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or to the Évangéline Funeral Home will be greatly appreciated.
