It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Eugene Ross MacLaurin, at his residence, on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the age of 81 years. Eugene was the beloved husband of Ruby MacLaurin (née MacNeill) and cherished son of the late Robert MacLaurin and the late Vera (née Ford) MacLaurin.

Eugene is survived by his beloved daughter Norma (Tony) MacLaurin-Dallaire and grandson Andrew (Abby). He will also be remembered by his sisters-in-law: Gloria Noye and Carlotta MacLaurin.

Predeceased by his parents Robert and Vera MacLaurin, and siblings Earl, John, Harold, Russell and Olive (Hochevar).

Eugene lived his early married years in Ontario, where he worked for the city and helped his brother Russ in the vineyard. In their 20s, Eugene and Ruby moved back home to PEI where he worked for the government, driving truck, eventually work as second man for his brother John Robert on John's lobster boat. Eugene was also an avid hunter. He always looked forward to the fall to hunt with his brothers and friends.

The funeral service for Eugene MacLaurin will take place at the Victoria West United Church at a later date and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
