The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, of Florence Margaret Gallant (née Dunphy) of Summerside, at the age of 82 years. Florence was the beloved wife of the late Armand J. Gallant and cherished daughter of the late Thomas Dunphy and the late Bernice (née Gallant) Dunphy of Kensington.

Florence is survived by her children: Janet (Paul) Arsenault, Kenneth (Bernadette) Gallant and Jo-Anne; by her sisters and brothers: Helena (Western-deceased) Fall, Paula (Paul) Champion, Anne LaRoche (Owen), Gary (Mary) Dunphy, Robert (Shelly) Dunphy and Joseph (Dianne) Dunphy; by her brothers- and sisters-in-law; Roger MacKay, Eldon Gallant, Roger Gallant, Lorraine Gallant and Sr. Norma Gallant. She will forever be remembered by her special friends: Marty, Rita, Marilyn, Dave and Valerie, also by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents: Thomas and Bernice Dunphy; by her parents-in-law: Leo and Nelida Gallant; by her husband Armand Gallant; by her sisters: Elsie (Gerard-deceased) Doucette, Irene (Bennett-deceased) MacRae, Colleen MacKay; sister-in-law Stella Gallant; nephew Danny Champion and niece Gerry Buchanan.

Florence was a member of the Silver Maple Seniors Club of Miscouche, a member of the Parkview Seniors Club of Summerside and a member of the Wellington Legion Branch #17.

As per her personal request, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Philippe et St. Jacques Church in Egmont Bay followed by the interment in the church cemetery.
