Obituary of Arsenault, Joseph C.

Surrounded by his family, Joseph C. Arsenault passed away peacefully at his home in Mont-Carmel, PEI, on October 28, 2019, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Zélica Arsenault (née Gallant). Born in Mont-Carmel, he was the son of the late Jérémie and Marie Pélagie Arsenault. He was the cherished father of Noëlla (late Christopher), Edgar (Pauline), Edmond (Corinne), Rose (Yvan), Roger (Maureen), Norma (Yvon), John (Marcia), Alfred, Paula (Eric), and Donna (Kevin). He was also the dear Pépé of numerous grand-children and great-grand-children. Joseph is also survived by sisters Louise (Sandford) and Aurore his in-laws Irene, Leonard, Claire (Adrien), Esther, Rose, Freda, Marguerite, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Ars&egravene (Thér&egravese), Albert (Anita), Denis (Alice) and sister Thér&egravese (Félix) his in-laws Fid&egravele, Raymond, Isidore, Father Edmond, Pat, Dick, as well as a few nieces and nephews. Joseph was a very hard-working, soft-spoken, and kind man who was well loved by many for his sense of humor and special consideration for others. He devoted significant time of his retired years being a caregiver to his wife. Resting at the Évangeline Co-op Funeral Home in Urbainville, visiting hours will be from 6 - 9 pm on Friday, November 1st. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church on Saturday, November 2nd at 10:30 am. Interment in the church cemetary. On-line condolences may be sent to evangelinefuneralcoop@pei.aibn.com FUNERAL REPORT The funeral mass for Joseph Cyrus Arsenault of Mont-Carmel, beloved husband of the late Zélica (née Gallant) was held on Saturday November 2nd, from the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville then to Our Lady of Mont-Carmel Church, Mont-Carmel at 10:30 a.m. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Michel Painchaud, assisted by Fr. Éloi Arsenault, Fr. Eddie Cormier, and Fr. Brendon Gallant. The urn was carried by son Roger Arsenault. Honorary pall bearers were grandsons Mitch Cameron, Renaud Boudreau, Jonathan Arsenault, and Aaron Arsenault. Flower bearers were grand-children Jeremy Cameron, Tara Arsenault, Candace Cameron, and Shawn Arsenault. The readings were proclaimed by Alfred Arsenault (in English) and Mélanie Boudreau (in French). The prayers of the faithful were addressed by Tyscia Audy. Eucharistic ministers were Fr. Michel Painchaud, Fr. Eloi Arsenault, Fr. Brendon Gallant, Eric Blacquiere and Marcella Poirier. Cross bearer was Ad&egravele Arsenault and altar servers were Gabrielle Blacqui&egravere and Noah Blacqui&egravere. The church choir was under the direction of the organist, Edmond Gallant. Interment took place in the church cemetery with Father Painchaud reading the prayers of the final commitment and farewell.
