Obituary of Gallant, Edith Marie
With broken hearts, the family of Edith Marie Gallant of Summerside and formerly of Abram-Village, wish to announce her passing on Friday, April 5th, 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown at the age of 65 years.
Edith is survived by her loving mother Doreen Arsenault (nee Barriault), her brother Roy (Rita), niece Chantal (Scott) of Calgary, AB, nephews Serge (Melanie) of Stratford, PEI and Michel of Surrey, BC. She will also be fondly remembered by grand-niece and grand-nephew Brielle and Caleb Gallant and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father Tilmon Gallant and step-father Alyre Arsenault.
Edith was a devoted member of the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church.
Resting at the Évangéline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Thursday, April 11th and then to the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay for funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment in the church cemetery will take place at a later date.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 10th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Edith's memory to the Kidney Foundation or to the CNIB would be greatly appreciated.

FUNERAL
The funeral mass for the late Edith Marie Gallant of Summerside and formerly of Abram-Village was held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay.
The celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Father Michel Painchaud who proclaimed the Gospel, delivered the homily and read the prayers of final commitment and farewell. Father Eddie Cormier was seated in the sanctuary and co-celebrated with Father Painchaud.
The first reading was read by Colette Arsenault and the second reading by Lucia Cameron and they also led the congragation in the prayers of the faithful. The cross-bearer was Claudette Arsenault and candle bearers were Léona Gallant and Célina Gallant. Eucharistic Ministers were Jeannette Gallant and Father Michel Painchaud. Active pallbearers were Ronald Caissie, Urbain Arsenault, Edgar Arsenault, Paul Gallant, Donald Arsenault and Marcel Arsenault. Flower bearers were Brielle Gallant, Caleb Gallant, Melanie Gallant and Chantal Gallant. The church and community choir was under the direction of Debbie Rousselle-Montgomery.
Interment will take place in the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques church cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Évangéline Funeral Co-op, Urbainville.
