Obituary of Bernard, Urbain Joseph

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Friday February 15th, 2019 of Urbain Joseph Bernard at the age of 82 years, formerly from Urbainville. Born in Urbainville, PEI he was the son of the late Eusebe Bernard and Catherine Gaudet. Urbain was a loving husband to Bibienne (Bea) Barriault. Also a loving father to Earl, Allen (Barb), Robert (Debora), Kenneth (Charlene), Sandra (Alain) Arsenault. He will be forever remembered by brother Camille Bernard and sister Aldina (Luc) Rivest. Devoted Grandfather to Andrea (Damien), Ashley (Nick), Candice (Mike), Shawn (Geena), Bianca(Derek), Vanessa (Jesse), Rodney (Candy) and Paul (Crystal). Great-grandfather to Geordie, Dax, Ria, Nash, Robin, Madison, Wyatt, Madeline, Savanna, Kallie, Cohen, Brooklyn and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Euclide and sisters Benita, Bertha and Eunice. Urbain was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. No.17, Wellington. Resting at the Évangéline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Wednesday, February 20th, then to St. Philippe et St. Jacques Church, Baie Egmont where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 19th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. No.17 will hold a memorial service on Tuesday February 19th at 6:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made in Urbain's memory to the St. Philippe et St. Jacques Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Urbain Joseph Bernard FUNERAL The funeral mass for Urbain Joseph Bernard formerly of Urbainville was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay. The celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Father Michel Painchaud who proclaimed the Gospel, delivered the homily and read the prayers of final commitment and farewell. The first reading was read by Linda Dunn and the second reading by Darlene Bernard and also led the congragation in the prayers of the faithful. The cross-bearer was Célina Gallant and candle bearers were Zelma Arsenault and Simone Arsenault. Eucharistic Ministers were Doris Arsenault and Father Michel Painchaud. Active pallbearers were Nick Clow, Damien Arsenault, Roger Bernard, Mike Bernard, Elmer Barriault and Dennis Barriault. Flower bearers were Ashley Bernard, Andrea Bernard, Claudette Poirier and Darlene Bernard. The church and community choir was under the direction of Debbie Rousselle-Montgomery. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Évangéline Funeral Co-op, Urbainville.
