Obituary of Arsenault, Claudia Marie

The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at the Summerset Manor on Monday, January 21st, 2019 of Claudia Marie Arsenault (nee Gallant) at the age of 87 years, formerly from St. Raphael and Le Chez-Nous. Born in St. Raphael, she was the daughter of the late Toussaint Gallant and Marie Rose Gallant. Claudia was a loving mother to Albin (Rosalie), Adrien (Stella), Cécile (Gilbert), Michel (Debbie), Albert (Gayle), Paulette (Melvin), Simon (Cindy) and Pierre (Erin). She will be forever remembered by her sisters Alfreda Poirier and Lucie MacDonald, brother-in-law Julien (Alvina) Arsenault, son-in-law Blair Arsenault, 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and by her special friend Louise Arsenault. She was predeceased by her husband Victorin, daughter Eva, granddaughter Bridget, sisters Marie (Glorice), Elva (José) and brothers Expedit (Anita) and Eloi (Clara) and sisters-in-law Anne Marie Landry (Harold) and Thér&egravese Arsenault (Ars&egravene) and brothers-in-law Olaf MacDonald and Yvon Poirier and by her parents-in-law Albénie and Angéline Arsenault. Claudia was a devoted Roman Catholic and a lifetime member of the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church. She was an active member of Les francophone de l'âge d'or, Le Club d'âge d'or de Mont-Carmel and Les Dames du Sanctuaire de St.Raphaël. Resting at the Évangéline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Thursday, January 24th then to the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church, Mont-Carmel where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Claudia's memory to the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to send a message of condolence to her family, please send an email to : evangelinefuneralcoop@pei.aibn.com FUNERAL The funeral mass for Claudia Marie Arsenault of the Summerset Manor and formerly of Le Chez-Nous in Wellington and St.-Raphaël was held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church, Mont-Carmel. The celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Father Michel Painchaud who proclaimed the Gospel, delivered the homily and read the prayers of final commitment and farewell. The first reading was read by Rachelle Smith and the second reading by Kayla Oram. Ginette Arsenault and Michelle Arsenault led the congragation in the prayers of the faithful. The cross-bearer was Marguerite Gallant and candle bearers were Martin Gallant and Lorraine Gallant. Eucharistic Ministers were Henri Gallant, Gloria Gallant, and Father Michel Painchaud. Everyone attending the funeral mass was considered honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers were three of her children, Albin, Albert, Simon and Tyler Arsenault, Caleb Arsenault, Robert Poirier and Gordon Gallant. Flower bearers were Isabelle Arsenault, Brielle Arsenault, Victoria Arsenault, Sophia Arsenault, Gabrielle Arsenault, Emmaline Arsenault Madelynn Arsenault and Angela Arsenault. The pall was placed by her children Cécile, Paulette, Adrien, Michel and Pierre. The church and community choir was under the direction of Edmond Gallant. Attending as a group were Les Dames du sanctuaire, Le Club d'âge d'or and management of Le Chez-Nous. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Évangéline Funeral Co-op, Urbainville.
