Obituary of Richard, Antoinette

The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday, June 18, 2018 of Antoinette (nee Gallant) Richard at the age of 90 years from Le Chez-Nous and formerly from Mont Carmel. Born in Cap Egmont on March 29, 1928 daughter of the late Sylvain and Matilda Gallant, she was a devoted wife to the late Emmanuel Richard. Antoinette is survived by her loving children: Doris (Louis) Arsenault, Ronald (Aline) Richard, Muriel (Roger) Arsenault, Maurice Richard, Simone (Raymond) Gallant, Juliette (Yvon) Gallant, Jean-Guy (Annette) Richard, Roger Richard, Nicole Richard (Noonan), Zoël (Carol) Richard and Allain (Martha) Richard. She will be forever remembered by her brother Ferdinand (Erma) Gallant, sister Emma Arsenault (Nazaire deceased) and sister-in-law Dorothy Gallant (Albert deceased). Antoinette was a passionate grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grand children. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers Cletus, Albert and Hermas and sister Elva. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Saturday, June 23rd, then to the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel- Church, Mont Carmel where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Michel Painchaud who proclaimed the gospel, delivered the homily and read the prayers of the final commitment and farewell, assisted by Fr. Eddie Cormier and Fr. Eloie Arsenault. The readings were read by Amy Richard and Ashley Richard who both did addressed the prayers of the faithful. Cross bearer was Sara Arsenault and the candle bearers were Dylan Richard and Katie Arsenault. Eucharistic ministers were Antoine Richard and Marcella Poirier. The active pallbearers were Ronald Richard, Jean-Guy Richard, Roger Richard, Zoël Richard, Alain Richard and Rick Arsenault. Flower bearers were Jenny Richard, Jessica Walsh, Tammy Strongman, Greg Gallant and Brittany Gallant. The community Church choir was under the direction and organist Edmond Gallant. Marcella Richard on guitar sang and < The River>. Attending the funeral was Le Chez-Nous Ltd. Interment took place in the church cemetery with Fr. Michel Painchaud officiating.
