With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cyrus Arsenault aged 91 years, at La Villa Providence, Shediac, NB on April 21, 2018, of Balmoral NB and originally from Urbainville PEI. Born in Urbainville on April 2nd, 1927, he was the son of the late François (Frank) and Hortense Arsenault. Beloved husband of the late Thér&egravese (Bujold) Arsenault (d. February 23, 2018) of Balmoral NB and her childrens Jean-Paul (Diane) of Balmoral, Laurina (Eddy) of Balmoral, Lise (Fernand) of Balmoral, André (Louise) of Edmonton, Nicole (Michael) of Shediac, Réjean (Rhea) of Balmoral, Louise of Dieppe, Line of Edmonton & Julie (Pierre) of Carleton. Cyrus is survived by his sisters and brother Sophie Richard (late Nazaire Richard) of Le Chez-Nous, Wellington, André Arsenault (late Bibianne Cabana) of Longueuil, QC and Sr. Zita Arsenault c.s.c. of Montréal, QC, by a niece Zelma Richard and nephews Melvin Richard, Gérard Richard, Éric Richard and André Richard. He was predeceases his brother Leo in infancy. Cyrus was a farmer on his father's farm until the age of 68 years. When he sold the family farm, he took interest in taking bus-tours (across Canada and the US) where he met his loving wife Thér&egravese and were married in May 1999.They spent 19 happy years together. The Arsenault family will always be gratefull and extend their many thanks to the Bujold family for accepting Cyrus in your family for the last 19 years. Your love, care and actions for him will never be forgotten. May God Bless you all! Resting at the Évangéline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Friday, April 27th then to the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay where funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00pm. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 7:00 to 9:00pm and Friday, April 27th from 1:00 to 2:30pm. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations in his memory to the Saint Philippe et Saint-Jacques Cemetery Fund, La Coopérative Le Chez-Nous Ltée. or an organization of your choice would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to send a message of condolence to his family, please send an email to: evangelinefuneralcoop@pei.aibn.com Cyrus Arsenault The funeral for Cyrus Arsenault of La Villa Providence, Shediac, N.B. and formerly of Urbainville, son of the late Francois (Frank) and Hortense Arsenault and beloved husband of the late Thér&egravese (Bujold) Arsenault was held on Friday April 27, from the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville to St. Philippe et St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Michel Painchaud who proclaimed the gospel, delivered the homily and read the prayers of the final commitment and farewell. The readings were proclaimed by Julie Bujold and Lise Cormier. The prayer of the faithful was addressed by Diane Thériault who also carried flower. The active pallbearers were Melvin Richard, Gérard Richard, André Richard, Fernand LeBlanc, Michel Bourque and Eddy Fournier. Cross bearer was Rhéal LeBlanc and the candle bearers were Jeannette Richard and Rémi Bujold. Eucharistic ministers were Léona Gallant and Doris Arsenault. The community church choir was under the direction and organist Debbie Rouselle Montgomery. Interment will take place in the Church cemetery at a later date.
