Obituary of Cormier, Alyre Francis

Surrounded by his loving family, Alyre Francis Cormier died peacefully at Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Monday, November 9th, 2015 at the age of 98 years. Formerly from St. Philippe, Alyre was born on August 8th, 1917 in St. Philippe and was the son of the late Benoit and Délina (nee Arsenault) Cormier and beloved husband of the late Yvette Judith (nee Gallant) Cormier. Alyre is survived by his loving children: Jeannine (Chris) Rushton, Moncton, Paul, Charlottetown, Melvin, Vancouver, Eunice (Paul) Kennedy, Lot 16, Donald (Amanda), St. Hubert, Michel (Tammy), Summerside and sister-in-law Laurette, Montreal. He will also be deeply missed by grandchildren: Jelisa, Bailey, Hannah, Samantha, Matthew, Joshua and Martina. Alyre will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Ir&egravene, Shediac, N.B., Joseph, Summerside, Zita, Wellington, Imelda (Edmond), Toronto, Toussaint (Yvonne), Wellington, Ella, Miscouche, Corrine, (Alyre) Wellington and Marguerite, Summerside. Alyre is predeceased by his parents, his wife, son Simon, brothers Tilmon, Antoine and Edmond and sister Lucie. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Friday, November 13th ,then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 12th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Alyre's memory to Le Chez-Nous, St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church Parish or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
