Obituary of Bernard, Joseph Alfred

It is with sadness in our hearts that we, the family of Joseph (Joey) Alfred Bernard, announces his passing at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the age of 50 years. Joey was born November 22, 1971 to his parents Abel Bernard and Dianne Bernard (née Arsenault) of Abram-Village and is survived by his brother Blaine (Christine Lykow) and stepson Nath (Charissa) Lykow and their son Oliver. Joey had a great admiration for his Godparents Melvin Bernard and Nancy Smith. He will be forever missed by his numerous aunts and uncles on the paternal side of the family, the late Joseph (José) and Florence Bernard and the maternal side of the family, the late Peter and Dorothy Arsenault. He will be fondly remembered by numerous cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents José and Florence Bernard, Peter and Dorothy Arsenault, by uncles André Bernard, Leonard Arsenault, Roger Arsenault and Gerald Arsenault, nephew Jeffrey Bernard and niece Grace Bernard in infancy. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 route 124, Urbainville, for public visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 14th from 6 - 8 p.m. A private memorial service for family and invited guests will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 18th at 10:30 a.m. followed by the interment at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church Cemetery, Egmont Bay. Memorial donations in memory of Joey can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
