Obituary of LeBlanc, Pastelle Andrée

It is with great peace and admiration that the family of Pastelle Andrée LeBlanc announce her passing on Friday, April 8, 2022. She transitioned peacefully at her residence in Charlottetown, PEI, at the age of 42, with her adoring family by her side. Pastelle is the daughter of Philippe LeBlanc (Maryse Thériault) of Mont-Carmel and Bernadette Richard (Mike Masters) of Oxford NS, and the twin sister of Emmanuelle Sophie LeBlanc (Matthew Youland). She will be forever missed by her life partner Pascal Miousse of Charlottetown. Pastelle is survived by Pascal's son Jacob Miousse of Rimouski, QC; Pascal's twin siblings France and François Miousse; and his parents Bernard Miousse and Jeanne d'Arc Arseneau of the Magdalen Islands. She will be forever remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and fellow artists. Pastelle had a great love for cats, and especially her own - Octave and Joséphine. She is predeceased by her grandparents Léo LeBlanc and Claudette Jaillet, and Roméo Richard and Alice Downing of New Brunswick. With her soulmates Emmanuelle and Pascal, Pastelle spent two decades inspiring the world as a member of the world-renowned power trio Visht&egraven. She traveled the world spreading the energy and insight of their Acadian roots through vocals, accordion, piano and dance. She is a Canadian folk legend who represented Prince Edward Island with dignity and pride to audiences around the globe, and she was loved by every neighbor and friend who ever dropped by for a tune or a cup of tea. A celebration of life in honor of Pastelle's memory will be held at the Centre Goëland. The civic address is 7151 PE-11 in Cape Egmont (Wellington Station). Visiting hours for the public will be Saturday, April 16 from 2-5pm, and Sunday, April 17 from 1-3pm. Donations will be graciously accepted for the Pastelle Memorial Fund and distributed to a cause that touched her heart.
