Obituary of Gallant, Melvin Joseph

The death occurred peacefully with family by his side, at the O'Leary Community Hospital in O'Leary, on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 of Melvin Joseph Gallant of St Chrysostome at the age of 80 years. Born March 30, 1941, he was the beloved husband of Jackie Gallant (née Arsenault) and son of the late Alphonse P. Gallant and the late Marie-Anne Gallant (née Arsenault). Melvin will be dearly missed by his loving children Dennis (Odette), Paula (Claude Arsenault), Marcel and Louise (Gilles Bernard). He will be remembered by his brothers and sisters Aubin (late Lila), Urbain (Kaye), Yvette Bains, Cyrus (Donna), Chris (Eric Greencorn), Charlie (Judy), Abbey (Barry McArthur) and Evangeline. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren Stephanie (Brian Arsenault), Carole, Isabelle, Luc, Dominick, Joel, Marc, Patrick, Michel and great granddaughter Zaidee, brothers and sisters in-law Cécile G., Eveline A., Lucia (Edmond Arsenault), Percy (Gina Arsenault), Louis Bilodeau, Rita A., Antoinette (Ivan Arsenault). Predeceased by his parents Alphonse P. & Marie-Anne Gallant and parents- in-law Victorin & Eufrida Arsenault, sister Laura (Nazaire Arsenault), brother Nazaire Gallant "Joe" and by brothers & sisters-in-law Louis A., Leona (Ivan Pineau), Ned (Merina Arsenault), Marie V. A., Ir&egravene Bilodeau, Leonard (Claudette Arsenault), Edgar A. & Raymond A. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home in Urbainville until Saturday, April 2, 2022 then to the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont-Bay for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. (maximum capacity 175). Visitation at the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 7 to 9 p.m. (maximum capacity 100) Donations made in Melvin's memory to Hospice PEI (Home Care) will be greatly appreciated.
