It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of Florence Arsenault Gillis, who passed away at Prince County Hospital on May 2, 2023 at the age of 84.
This incredibly beautiful soul was born July 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Alyre and Léah (Wedge) Maddix. In 1960, she married the late Alphonse (Élie) Arsenault, with whom she had 5 children. Florence worked most of her life as bookkeeper for Wellington Construction. In 2007 she was fortunate to meet Roger Gillis whom she married in 2008.
If you were lucky enough to have known her, you will know she was not only super proud of each and every member of her family but also embraced numerous people in the community and beyond. Florence was a selfless and giving person as well as a very strong woman. She was the reason her family is such a close-knit group.
Florence will especially be remembered for providing comfort to others through her love of giving angel pocket stones. Over the years, this gesture touched numerous lives in positive ways.
