Obituary of Richard, Léona Marie
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Léona Marie (née Gallant) Richard on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Prince County Hospital, at the age of 89 from the Chez-Nous in Wellington. Born on October 9, 1932, to the late Aubin J.L. and Sylvina (née Bernard) Gallant of Abram-Village. Beloved wife of the late Adolphe J. Richard (January 12, 2022).
Left to cherish her memory are her children Thelma (Roger) Bernard, Paul (Noella), Dianne (Robert) Gallant and Marcel (Jolline).
Léona will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Krista (David), Shawn (Marlie), Jamie (Ashley), Matthew (Jaime), Jonel (the late Jamie Caseley), Skyler (Joey). Also her great grandchildren Lucas, Anabelle, Nate, Brooke, Lucas, Ethan, Logan, Rory and Nellie.
She will be forever remembered by her brothers Paul (Thérèsa) Gallant of Abram-Village and Matthew Gallant of Stratford, her sisters-in-law Cécile Gallant, Louise Gallant, Anna Gallant and a brother-in-law Euclide Gallant. Also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Théodore (Julie-Anne), Nélida (Léo), Amand, Jéanne (Félix), Edgar, Norman, Alfred, Léo (Stella), Aline (Adelard), Éliza and Éric.
Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral home, Urbainville then to the Immaculate Conception Church in Richmond where a funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. (maximum capacity of 300 persons). Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Léona`s memory to the Wellington Volunteer Fire Department, where her husband, son and grandson served as firemen, would be appreciated.
