April 19, 1928 ~ June 14, 2023

It is with sadness in our hearts that we, the family of Cécile Amanda Gallant of Wellington, announce her passing at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the age of 95 years. Born April 19, 1928, Cécile was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Madeleine (née Bernard) Gallant of Abram-Village and the loving wife of the late Edgar Gallant.

She will forever be remembered by her loving children: David (Donna), Claude (Gloria), Léonce, Gloria, Yvon, Linda (Mike) Pasternak, Jeanne (Fraser) White, Claire, Norma (Kevin) Roddick, Anne, Paul, Raymond, Yvette (Gary) Winchester and Louise “Loulou” Gallant, her 14th. Cécile will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters: Lorraine Arsenault, Johnny (Judith), Nellie Doucette, Arthur, Jerry (Jan); by brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul Gallant, Matt Gallant, Euclide Gallant, Anna Gallant, Louise Gallant, Joan Gallant; and by her 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Cécile was a beautiful, French Acadian lady who created with love numerous handmade quilts and was a school teacher at the St. Gilbert school.

Predeceased by her parents Emmanuel and Madeleine Gallant, her husband Edgar Gallant and by several brothers, sisters and in-laws.

Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 route 124, Urbainville, for public visiting hours on Sunday, June 18th from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay on Monday, June 19th at 10:30 a.m. followed by the interment in the Saint-Philippe et Saint Jacques Church Parish Cemetery, Egmont Bay.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in Cécile’s memory made to the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Cemetery Fund or to the PEI Home Care Program will be greatly appreciated.
