Obituary of Joan Margaret FitzGerald

October 15, 1929 ~ December 15, 2023 The death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of O’Leary Community Hospital on Friday, December 15, 2023 of Joan (Brown) FitzGerald aged 94 years. She was the loving wife of the late Lorne FitzGerald. Joan was born in Bayside, PEI on October 15, 1929, daughter of the late Alphonsus and Bernetta (McIver) Brown. Joan was the cherished mom to Don (Becky) and Holly (Shane) McNeill. Loving grandmother to: Donald Jr. (Lacey) FitzGerald, Barry (Cassie) McNeill, Chad (Samantha) McNeill, Megan (Colby) McNeill, Melissa–deceased (Adam) MacDonald; and great grandmother to Isabelle, Alex, Archie, Bo and Jalayne. Dear sister to Iris Rauliuk and sister-in-law of: Eileen Brown, Vera FitzGerald and Betty FitzGerald. Joan was predeceased by her parents, husband Lorne, son Barry, granddaughter Melissa; great granddaughter Layla; daughter-in-law Elvira; step granddaughter Dana; also, by the following brothers: Victor, Ray, Jim, Desi, Ted; and by sisters: Velma, Mary, Betty and Lillian. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville, PE for visiting hours on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, All Weather Hwy, Richmond. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Donations made to the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund will be greatly appreciated.
