Obituary of Avola Marie Gallant

January 20, 1935 ~ December 15, 2023 The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Friday, December 15, 2023, of Avola Marie Gallant (née Arsenault), formerly of Le Chez-Nous in Wellington and Abram-Village, at the age of 88 years. Born January 20, 1935, Avola was the beloved wife of the late Elmer Gallant and cherished daughter of the late Joseph T (Joe Tannis) Arsenault and the late Célina Arsenault (née Gallant). Avola was the devoted and precious mother of: Wayne (Léona), Claude (Darlene), Carol (Paul) Arsenault, Paul (Emilie), Linda (Melvin) Arsenault, Allen (Patricia), Tim, Ruth (Ronald) Arsenault; and cherished grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her sister Evelyn (Faustin) Gallant; her sisters-in-law Denise Arsenault (Léo - deceased), Louise Arsenault (José - deceased), and brother-in-law Dolor (Mélina) Gallant of Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Elmer (2022), her brothers and sister; Étienne (Estelle - 1st marriage) and (Jackie - 2nd marriage), Clément, Tilmon, Marie (André), Rita (Alyre), Ida (Camille), Anna (Wilfred), Thérèse (Gus); and by her in-laws: Gustave (Thelma), Edmond (Zelma), Rita (Tilmon), Tilmon (Doreen), Edgar (Annette) and Donat (Emily). Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville for visiting hours on Tuesday, December 19th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Donations in Avola’s memory made to Le Chez-Nous or to the Évangéline Funeral Co-op will be greatly appreciated.
