It is with sadness in our hearts that we, the family of Mary Evelyn “Paula” Gallant (née Arsenault), announce her peaceful passing at home, in St. Raphaël, while surrounded by her loving family, on May 27, 2024, at the age of 71 years after battling cancer like the champion she was for 13 years. The poster child for positivity, Paula was born on July 10, 1952, and was the beloved wife of Ernest Gallant and cherished daughter of the late Mary Perry, the late Amédée Arsenault (1st marriage), and the late Louis Perry (2nd marriage).

Paula will be forever missed and loved by her children: JC (Julie Stewart) and Marcel (Natalie); by her numerous siblings: Della (Gary) Lynch, twin Pam (John) Arsenault, Joanne (Alphonse) Arsenault, Ronnie (Agnes) Arsenault, Judy (Joe) Arsenault, Nancy (Dave) Ead, David (Linda) Perry, Shirley (Alfred) Bernard, and Sandra Jeffery (Tommy); by her grandchildren: Gabrielle, Jolène, Emersyn, Loïc, and Émile. Also left to cherish her fond memories are her in-laws: Évangéline (Freddie - deceased), Bernice (Ian - deceased), Norma (Cedric), Maurice (Brenda), Donnie (Loretta), Marcella (Gilles), Kevin (Sherry), Robert, and Gerald (Michel); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Amédée, Mary, and Louis; her father-in-law Freddie; her brother-in-law Ian; and her beloved little fur-baby Sophie.

Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville for visiting hours on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Albin Arsenault, will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 31017 Veteran’s Memorial Highway, Richmond, Interment to follow in the Immaculate Conception Church Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paula made to the Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated. May we all continue to be inspired by her unwavering positivity and profound love of life, carrying her legacy forward in our hearts and actions.
