Obituary of Melina Marie Cameron

June 27, 1935 ~ December 6, 2024 The death occurred peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PE, surrounded by her loving family, of Melina Marie Cameron (née Richard) of Wellington Center, age 89 years. Melina was the beloved wife if the late John Barriault (1st marriage) and late Dick (Harold) Cameron (2nd marriage), and cherished daughter of the late Céofred Richard and the late Edna Arsenault formerly of Urbainville, PE. Melina will forever be remembered by her children: Elmer, Simone (Maurice), Daniel (Sheila), Ronald (Amber), Karen (Pierre – deceased), Richard (Jeannette) and Mona; by sisters Zelma (Edward - deceased), Aldona (Richard) and Donalda (Donat); by brothers-in-law Elmer Gaudet, Adrus Gallant; by sisters-in-law Eunice Richard and Aline Richard. She will forever be missed by her 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and by several nephews and nieces. She will forever be remembered by her sisters-in-law: Marion Cameron and Eleanor Breau; by special friends Aline Richard and Lucie Poirier. Predeceased by her parents, her 1st and 2nd husbands; her brothers and sisters: Frederic (Tina) Richard, Rene Richard, Yvonne (Adrian) Gallant, Nora Gaudet, Cécile (Eric) Barriault, Merie Gallant, Donat Richard; brother-in-law Edward Arsenault; sister-in-law Blanche Praught and 7 brothers-in-law; and son-in-law Pierre Caissie. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville, for visiting hours on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 31017 Highway 2, Richmond, PE followed by the interment in the church cemetery. Donations in Melina’s memory made to the Immaculate Conception Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
